kotetsu’s favorite thing is, in the morning, when they’re still trying to get up for the day, he has to literally peel izumo off of him he’s such a clinger. but for the first minute, before his partner is even really awake, izumo whines and holds tighter and for that minute kotetsu feels like the most important person in the world and they’ve been late a few times to their post because of shit like that.
kotetsu fell for izumo first, i think. they both put off the idea for a very, very long time, but i really do feel like kotetsu was the first one to look at izumo at one point in their lives and go, ‘wow i just want you to be super happy and have someone love you.’ he just doesn’t realize (nor let himself admit) until later that he’s the person that wants to make izumo happy, and he’s the person that loves him.
it wasn’t until they got smashed and played tonsil hockey did kotetsu let himself think about it as an actual possibility, and bring it up to izumo. he was afraid of what the other would say. but, honestly, i don’t think he was ever afraid of losing izumo all together. nothing short of death would separate the two of them, romantically involved or not. even if things went south and izumo said ‘no’, he knew they’d always be together one way or another.
but he’ll stay there because he doesn’t mind, he’s never minded actually. izumo is as welcomed there as he is in their home, his bed, his skin.
the chunin counts his breaths, even on the inhale to match the exhale, just so as to not jostle around too much for fear of waking him. if someone important walks by he’ll bring him to but for now, izumo stays.
